Army officer and works economist. He entered the Ludovika Academy in 1942 and was commissioned as a lieutenant in 1944, earlier than usual because of the war. He was taken prisoner of war by the British and was allowed home in 1946. However, he was dismissed from the army, based on the "B" list. He entered the University of Economics and continued his studies in 1948 at the Péter Pázmány University. Meanwhile he worked as a barman, obtaining a catering certificate in 1948. He was arrested in December 1949 and sentenced to life imprisonment for treachery. He was a convict at the Csolnok forced-labour camp, and was released from Vác Prison on October 27, 1956. In 1967, he graduated from the College of Catering, and worked as a unit head and restaurant manager. In the autumn of 1990, he was elected to the Kispest local government assembly. He has received several state awards and was made a freeman of Kispest in 2002.
