Women in Budapest: 1956

The historians of the 1956 Institute participated in the selection of the materials of the exhibition Women in Budapest which was organized by the City of Budapest.

Our team

historian

He was research fellow in the 1956 Institute between 1991 and 2019. His main field of interest is the history of the 1956 revolution. He dedicated to it twenty monographs and approximately 250 articles.

He is head of department of the Department of Comparative Historical and Sociological Studies of Loránd Eötvös University. He was research fellow in the 1956 Institute between 1999 and 2019.

He worked for the 1956 Institute since the very beginning of his career. He is research fellow of the Holocaust Memorial Center in Budapest and editor of the websites holokausztfoto.hu.

Professor of contemporary history at Eszterházy Károly University. Formerly head of the 1956 Institute between 1999 and 2019. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the 1956 Institute Foundation.

She was research fellow in the 1956 Institute between 1998 and 2019. She was the head of the Oral History Archive since 2009.  She is on the Board of Trustees of the 1956 Institute Foundation.

He was scholarly fellow in the 1956 Institute – Oral History Archive Department of the Széchényi National Library. He teaches history and he is senior research fellow at Wesley Research Institute.

He was research fellow in the 1956 Institute – Oral History Archive Department of the Széchényi National Library between 2014 and 2019. Now he works for the Committee of National Remembrance.

She worked for the 1956 Institute where she was the editor of several content developments and oral history interviews.  Recently she is librarian of the local cultural center in Szigetmonostor.

Doctor of Science. He was research fellow of the 1956 Institute since 2000. His main fields of interest are the political and military history of the 20th century, the antisemitism, and the secret services.
